Laskar Pelangi (2008) adalah sebuah film garapan sutradara Riri Riza yang dirilis pada Jumat, 26 September 2008 pada saat libur Lebaran. Film Laskar Pelangi merupakan karya adaptasi dari buku Laskar Pelangi yang ditulis oleh Andrea Hirata. Skenarionya ditulis oleh Salman Aristo yang juga menulis naskah film Ayat-Ayat Cinta dibantu oleh Riri Riza dan Mira Lesmana. Hingga Maret 2009, Laskar Pelangi telah ditonton oleh 4,6 juta orang[1], menjadikannya film terbanyak ditonton di Indonesia keempat, setelah Jelangkung dengan 5,7 Juta, Pocong 2 dengan 5,1 Juta, dan Ada Apa Dengan Cinta dengan 4,9 Juta.

Sang Pemimpi merupakan film kedua yang diadaptasi dari novel karya Andrea Hirata. Mira sendiri tak berani memasang target bahwa film ini harus melampaui prestasi yang telah diraih film Laskar Pelangi, yang telah ditonton oleh 4,6 juta orang. "Kita enggak berani memasang target, karena penonton kita memang sulit ditebak. Tapi, tetap kita akan mencoba berbuat yang terbaik," ujarnya. (EH)
Untuk mencari pemeran tokoh-tokoh anggota Laskar Pelangi, Riri Riza melakukan casting di daerah Belitung dengan menggunakan pemeran-pemeran lokal dalam pembuatan film. Film ini juga diambil di lokasi yang sama, Pulau Belitung. Film ini memadukan 12 aktor Indonesia yang dikenal dengan kemampuan akting mereka dengan 12 anak-anak Belitung asli yang bertalenta akting.

Adnan Sempit - RMVB Format

Ahmad Idham’s film “Adnan Sempit” takes on mat rempits in a film that combines action with comedy, unlike other similar themed movies such as “Remp-It” (2006) and “Bohsia: Jangan Pilih Jalan Hitam” (2009), which seems to give rise to negative perceptions of the mat rempit life. Although the film tries to change people’s negative perception towards these bikers, the story is just too ordinary and dull, causing this film to be a bit of a bore.

It tells the story of two people from different worlds. Adnan (Shaheizy Sam) is a mat rempit who works as a dispatch boy at a private company and has feelings for his employer, Nadia (Intan Ladyana). Nadia who comes from a rich family, asks Adnan to pose as her boyfriend for an event. The relationship that goes smoothly in the beginning starts to rock when Nadia is angered by Adnan’s embarrassing actions. Soon, Jofri (Zach X-Factor) comes into Nadia’s life with his own ulterior motive.

Though in fact a serious person in real life, Shaheizy Sam is seen in a different light where his character is quite funny and the jokes inserted are spontaneous and not too bogus. Shaheizy nails his comedic character well, delivering a good performance! In contrast to Intan Ladyana, her acting was stiff which inevitably made her unsuitable for the role as Adnan’s lady love. Credit should be given to Nurliana Samsudin, or better known as Reanna, who plays Nadia’s secretary.

Although she works in a corporate company, she is interested in becoming a minah rempit. Weird huh? In reality, minah rempits are commonly known as bohsia, which share the same meaning as slut. However, in the context of this movie, it is a little different. Even the chemistry between Reanna and Along Raja Lawak who plays Adnan’s best friend is much better than Shaheizy and Intan.

The movie serves up some dangerous stunts, however is lessened to focus more on the love story between two leads. Interestingly, Idham dares to insert a scene where Adnan spies on a group of men who are with a woman showing off her ‘assets’. It’s too bad the audience were not able to see her ‘assets’ as it was pixelated.

During the late Ming Dynasty, the Chinese imperial court is plagued by corruption as eunuchs usurp state power and the reigning emperor is incompetent. The Jinyi Wei (literally: Brocade-clad Guards) is the government's secret police, trained in clandestine combat since childhood, they are in charge of conducting missions to ensure peace and stability within the empire. They have the authority to prosecute anyone deemed as an enemy of the state and they devote their lives and lethal prowess to serving the emperor only. When the organisation was first founded, the Jinyi Wei took orders directly from the emperor, but now they are under the control of the eunuch faction. The chief eunuch Jia Jingzhong is plotting with an exiled noble, Prince Qing, to rebel against the emperor and seize power. Jia orders Qinglong, the Jinyi Wei chief, to kill the Imperial Councilor Zhao Shenyan and take Zhao's safebox, which supposedly contains a list of names of traitors.

However, Qinglong discovers later that he had been used, as the safebox contains the Imperial Seal, a symbol of the emperor's authority, and Jia wants to use it to legitimize Prince Qing's actions for convenience when the rebellion begins. Qinglong is betrayed by his fellow guards and becomes a fugitive when Jia denounces him as a traitor and issues an order for his arrest. Qinglong escapes and joins the Justice Escort Agency, where he strikes up a romantic relationship with Qiao Hua, the daughter of the agency's leader. Qinglong is determined to fulfill his loyalty to the emperor and continues to search for evidence of Prince Qing's rebellion plot and undermining Qing's plans. He is joined by the Heaven Eagles Gang, a group of bandits led by the Judge of the Sands. Standing in Qinglong's way are Jia Jingzhong's lackeys and his former Jinyi Wei fellows, as well as Prince Qing's goddaughter Tuotuo, a highly-skilled female pugilist.

Little Big soldier - RMVB Format

The film takes place during the Warring States Period of China where we see an old soldier (Jackie Chan) take a young General (Wang Lee Hom) captive. He hopes to present the General to his superiors in exchange for rewards such as cash and kind, and the ultimate prize, to never be fighting in a war again.

Of course, there are disagreements between the pair at first, what with the old soldier being on the Liang side and the General being on the Wei side. At the same time, they are also being pursued by Prince Wen (Yoo Seung-jun) who is the General's brother. Prince Wen has a score to settle with his big brother; he intends to gain control of the throne by wrestling it out of his brother's hands.
The film basically tells of the story between two runaways who have to be on the run for their survival, while also trying to reach Liang. On the way, they encounter adventures such as constantly dodging the enemy and running into all sorts of different characters while on the way to Liang. The two also end up as sort of friends.





In terms of character, Jackie Chan as usual gives his best. Though his action scenes have decreased, still, there's nothing better than watching Jackie kick butt. As for Lee Hom, this is his second Mandarin film after "Lust, Caution" and he gives a pretty good performance as the temperamental General. Korean American actor Yoo Seung-jun, who plays Prince Wen and is signed to Jackie's entertainment management company, is also convincing in his role as the power-hungry Prince.

Overall, while not one of Jackie Chan's best works, this film should definitely be given a try. Do so if you're a fan of both Jackie and Lee Hom, or just one of them. The film is pretty good and the ending is unpredictable, so you'll gain your money's worth after having watched this film.

Sinopsis:

Syadon merasakan hidupnya sempurna apabila Mala, seorang gadis cantik menganggapnya sebagai seorang ‘kekasih’. Pada suatu hari Syadon menemui Mala cedera dipukul dan diugut oleh orang jahat (Budi). Untuk menyelamatkan Mala, Syadon dipaksa menyerahkan semua simpanannya dan selepas menyerahkan wang Syadon dipukul dan ditinggalkan di lorong gelap. Setelah tersedar, didapati Mala, kereta dan duitnya telah hilang yang ada di depan mata ialah teko keemasan yang, lalu dibawanya pulang. Keesokan pagi, Syadon terkejut apabila mendapati seorang gadis (Pari) tidur di sebelahnya.

Pari menerangkan yang beliau sedang mencari ‘kekasih’, terus sahaja Syadon menunjukkan rumah jirannya yang ada anak bujang. Disangkanya Pari tersalah rumah. Bapa Pari (Para) kurang bersetuju dengan pilihan anaknya. Syadon tidak kelihatan seperti jejaka idaman wanita. Tetapi Pari berkeras mahukan Syadon dan enggan pulang ke dunia kayangannya. Para kemudiannya memberikan sekuntum mawar kepada Pari. Setiap kali kelopaknya gugur, bererti semakin suntuk waktu yang Pari ada untuk mengahwini jejaka idamannya.

Syadon bertanya siapa Pari sebenarnya. Setelah diterangkan, Syadon sukar mempercayainya. Pari terpaksa membuktikan kata-katanya dengan menunaikan permintaan Syadon yang mahukan dua guni duit… barulah Syadon percaya dengan kata-kata Pari dan dengan duit tersebut, Syadon mahu membeli sebuat kereta sports. Tiba-tiba Syadon ternampak Volkswagennya. Dia mendekati tetapi terserempak pula dengan Mala. Mala yang pura-pura terkena penyakit hilang ingatan, terus sahaja sembuh apabila ternampak duit Syadon yang begitu banyak. Syadon kembali mabuk cinta.

Pari kecewa… tambahan pula Pari kini sudah mengetahui siapa Mala dan Budi sebenarnya. Maka bermulalah usaha Para dan Pari melumpuhkan kegiatan Mala dan Budi. Dengan usaha Para dan Pari, Syadon akhinya mengetahui siapa Mala sebenarnya. Tetapi dapatkah Syadon melihat rupa Pari yang sebenarnya? Sementara itu, Pari pula semakin kesuntukan waktu… apakah cinta yang dicarinya akan hilang bersama dengan kelopak bunga yang terakhir….

The storyline opens in Tibet in the year 1943, wherein one of its protagonists, Liam Paull, is informed that he has fulfilled the prophecies made of him - he has fought an army of enemies while a flock of cranes circled overhead; fought for love at the palace of Jade; saved his brothers whom he did not know; and forsaken his name. He is then entrusted by his master with the protection of a Scroll which contains knowledge by which the reader becomes the most powerful of living things - a protection that will keep him youthful and immunize him to injury until, at the close of 60 years, he must pass the knowledge to an heir. The master, who has formerly been the guardian of this Scroll, is killed by German soldiers shortly after the transfer. His pupil, Liam, escapes despite the Nazi commander's expectations.

60 years later, a young pickpocket named Kar robs a police officer in a subway station. He is arrested, but frees himself and chains the police officer, only to flee some of the latter's colleagues. Above in the street, the Nameless Monk is reading a newspaper when he notices several men attempting to capture him. Liam attempts to escape by running into the subway, whereupon he and Kar collide, causing a young girl to fall into the path of an oncoming train. Kar and the Liam rescue the girl, whereupon the three escape, leaving Kar's bag of stolen goods in the station.
Having escaped, Liam and Kar introduce themselves to each other, whereupon Kar steals the Scroll from the Liam and runs away. Thereafter, wherever Kar goes he is chased by the Nameless Monk, who suspects that Kar may be a suitable successor as guardian of the Scroll. When fighting underground against a minor crime lord called Mister Funktastic ,Kar meets a young woman named Jade, with whom he falls in love. Liam then follows Kar home and watches him at home practicing Kung-fu by watching Chinese martial arts movies. The next day, Jade meets with Nina at the opening of the exhibit by the Human Rights Organization - Conscience of Humanity. Later, they meet again during the next day and are conversing when Jade walks up to them and asks Kar to return her necklace, which he had apparently stolen on purpose in order to return to Jade so as to earn her esteem. She is interrupted by a group of mercenaries whose quarry is Liam - their intended target flees with Kar in his company.
The Nameless Monk and Kar escape by hiding beneath an Asian laundromat, wherein are several monks of the lead character's order. The Nameless Monk then takes refuge in a nearby building where he shows Kar several advanced combat techniques, including a demonstration of the art of dodging bullets. They are attacked and the Scroll is taken to the employer of the mercenary forces - a crime lord named Strucker. As a MacGuffin to the plot, it is revealed that Strucker is in fact the Nazi commander who fought with the Nameless Monk 60 years ago in Tibet. Strucker desires to use the power of the Scroll as a means of world domination. Upon reading the Scroll, Strucker finds that it contains a recipe for noodle soup, whereas it is later revealed that the true secret of power is tattooed on the Nameless Monk's torso. The Nameless Monk and Kar return home to find that Kar's employer, Mr. Kojima, has been murdered by Strucker's granddaughter, who happens to be Nina. They flee to the Asian laundromat but are betrayed by an ambitious monk who desires the power conferred by the scroll - however, all parties are taken to Strucker's center of operation and tortured.
The Nameless Monk and Kar seek the help of Jade, whom they learn is the daughter of a currently imprisoned Russian crime lord. Their meeting is interrupted by Nina, who has Jade and Kar beaten and the Nameless Monk captured. Later, Jade and Kar infiltrate Strucker's headquarters, where they are separated as Strucker prepares to scan the Nameless Monk's brain. Jade fights Nina and defeats her, and Kar finds the Nameless Monk. By now, Strucker has regained his youth by reading the text of the Scroll, but he is unable to obtain the content of the last line, which is written nowhere and present only in the Nameless Monk's memory. Strucker attempts to scan the Nameless Monk's brain, but is prevented by Kar himself. The fight ensues, which takes to the roof of the building. In the end, Strucker is thrown onto electric cables; however, Strucker is preserved from death by the power conferred to him by his use of the Scroll.
While Jade frees the other monks, the Nameless Monk transfers what is revealed to be only part of the Scroll's content, and the task of protecting it for 60 years, to Kar. When Strucker attempts to kill Kar, but is killed himself, it is revealed that Jade has also received a part of the Scroll and shares with him the task of protecting it and all the effects thereof. The Nameless Monk then tells them that they both passed the three prophecies and the final test. The next day, the now aged Nameless Monk meets Kar and Jade, to whom he reveals the final line of the Scroll and whom he now deems inseparable. He then departs, lighthearted.
